RELIGIOUS EDUCATION
The religious Education program at Ryde Secondary College is co-ordinated by the Macquarie Combined Churches Christian Education Board. This Board is composed of local Catholic and Protestant Churches. The aim of the program is to teach the common beliefs held by the churches. It is Bible-based teaching.
Years 7, 8 and 9 students attend regular Religious Education lessons and Year 10 students are taught in seminars.
The Religious Education teachers are sensitive to the fact that many students are from non-Christian and non-religious backgrounds and so seek to create an environment of mutual respect where these students are free to express differing ideas.
The teachers also run a lunchtime youth group called Flipside within the school on Friday lunchtimes.
