DRAMA Stage 5 - Year 9 & 10
Beginning in Year 9, Drama follows the Board of Studies Syllabus. At the School Certificate level it involves all of the following activities:
Improvisation, Playbuilding, Performance Space, Discussion, Reading and Writing about Drama and Theatre, A great deal of experience of Dramatic Presentations (both creating your own and going to others outside the school).
Students will become involved physically as well as intellectually in the work.
You do not need a great talent but must be willing to have a go.
Drama is for anyone, not just people who wish to be actors or to work in show business.
Drama will develop your self-confidence, communication skills, your ability to work with others, your creativity, your ability to think and analyse, and (very important) your ability to present yourself.
You will be expected to attend the theatre during both years. This will be at your own expense.
Drama is a great deal of fun and is also training for success in any career.
