Visual Arts at Ryde Secondary College, offers students the opportunity to develop their practical art skills and extend their ability to think creatively.

Visual art forms have moved beyond the gallery and have become an important, everyday way of communicating with people: they are used in media technologies such as TV, film, internet, newspapers ..

At RSC we combine traditional art forms and skills with contemporary Visual media. We offer traditional art forms such as painting, drawing sculpture, ceramics, printmaking and photography. Contemporary art form students have the opportunity to explore digital art and photography, time-based art: film/video/animation.

Outcomes
Students will develop:
- a strong knowledge of art history
- the ability to think critically about art
- the ability to express and communicate ideas in a visual way
- the technical knowledge and skills of a variety of art forms.
