COMMERCE Commerce is one of the subjects which has a direct application to life. Much of life involves individuals in commercial/business relationships with other people eg. the boss, the noisy neighbour and with institutions eg. the bank, the law, supermarkets. Commerce aims to develop an awareness of, and competency in, dealing with these commercial relationships through a consideration of 7 areas:
Business Consumers Government Labour Law Money Records
The Year 9 course covers: * Being a Wise Consumer * Leisure and Travel * Paying for Goods and Services * How Sellers Sell
The Year 10 Course covers: THE LAW -making it -changing it -using it THE BUSINESS WORLD- -running a small business -growth of big business THE WORKFORCE- -entering the workforce -earning an income - workplace issues Students in the Year 10 course will participate in class Mock Trials and will visit Ryde Local Court.
